Goodbye Summer. Hello Autumn.
msrorschach

I’m not going to lie. This summer has probably been the best summer I’ve ever had. I usually end up out of state staying with family for a few weeks and have nothing to do. And when I am home I still have nothing to do or no money.

My first performance as Columbia was two weeks ago. It was kind of an emergency/fill-in kind of night. I didn’t get to have a big debut and none of my friends or family could make it. On top of that I had just gotten sick. But the night went pretty smooth and I knew what I was doing. At my next performance I will definitely have some friends there to support me!

-On a side note here are a couple snapshots of my hat I just covered!

Pretty sweet, eh?

The Run For Your Lives 5k zombie/obstacle course was amazing. I stayed back a bit for a friend but still didn’t finish terribly late. Needless to say, I am definitely looking forward to it next year.

Lastly, after doing the paper route for a little over two months tonight will be my last night delivering papers and I am very exited to have some time off.

Christmas already?

Summer fails.
msrorschach
This is just an update on how lame my life is, or how lame my summer has been. For the first week and a half of my summer I spent it enjoying my freedom by sleeping in late, playing games, and having my good friend, Beth, over. After that, I spent a whole, miserable three weeks in the state they call Florida doing absolutely nothing but playing on my mom's laptop and going to the lame beach where I became terribly burnt. The ride home was just craptastic. We got a flat tire twice and lost the lights on our trailer three times (we were hauling a car back with us). On top of this, I was burnt, still, and my younger brother got sick and vomited while being stuck in traffic for a couple of hours. After we returned I did nothing for a week because Beth has been busy with work, and all my other friends are males which means we can only hang out at parks and places of that sort. I went to my uncle's wedding in Michigan and was there for two days. It was nice to see family. The next two following weeks I have spent working on my movie list, watching Firefly, playing Sims, learning a new song, adding more stuff to a costume, and trying to get a real job. Yesterday I went to Deep River Waterpark with a friend, Suzy, and I am now burnt again. Gencon Indy started today and I am missing out on all the awesome fun and costumes. On the bright side, this time next year I should be living in Indianapolis. Therefore, I will not need to worry about lodging or gas prices. I also have more time to work on costumes. That is all, so long.

Psycho Remake Review
msrorschach

Spoilers, spoilers, spoilers! Don't read if you haven't seen Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho. If you have not seen it, go to your closest video rental shop and watch it. Then proceed to read this review, and watch the remake with Vince Vaughn.

When I originally bought it I thought it was Hitchcock’s. When I realized it was the remake I was quite disappointed. Vince Vaughn in a movie like this sounded absolutely horrifying, and not in a good way. But I realized that another opportunity like this (Vaughn playing a role such as Norman) is improbable. So I watched it. To be quite honest I was impressed with how well the director paid attention to the details Hitchcock had sewn into his original work. He even kept the same opening credits. The only difference was that instead of black and white stripes he did black and green which I found completely unnecessary. Also, the movie is in color unlike the original which takes away the contrast in the movie, including Norman’s split persona.

Vince Vaughn did a decent job as Norman. The masturbation scene was not subtle enough. I don’t think it was necessary that they add the sounds of the zipper. They made it too obvious. Also, the painting that he removed from the wall was not the same as the one in the original movie which took away from the irony. And the shower scene was a fail for me. The shots weren’t as great and didn’t have as much of an impact. I couldn’t actually feel Marion’s pain like I did with the final jab in the original. And the shot of Marion’s eye was not as fantastic. Vince Vaughn is also built too big to play his own mother.

Lastly, the psychiatrist at the end didn’t mention anything about the mind being like a house. Not that I recall anyway.

Overall, don't watch this movie if you haven't seen Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho. His gives you a lot more insight into psychology.

Rorschach's Journal... Lawl.

Beth suggested I get one of these things, and since I've been meaning to start writing again anyways, I decided to do so. Especially with summer here I now have a lot of free time on my hands. And I get tired of talking to the same people day after day.

About a month ago I was sitting in my physics class and I had a random thought: what if Michael Bay was the director of our lives? We'd all be effed, that I am certain of. I could be sitting here, minding my own business and then "BOOM!" My head just might explode.
